THE EASTER BELL

Over the earth there gladly fell The song of many a golden bell; Far and near came the joyous chime That heralded the Easter time. So loud, so clear, its music rang As sweet as if an Angel sang: “Lo! Death and Darkness both have fled Since Christ is risen from the dead.” O! little bell, tell wind and wave That Love has triumphed o’er the grave. Fill all the earth with joyous strain; Ring out, sweet bell, again—again!
