HOMESICK
Reading edition
These city streets are cold and gray, And very dim and dark; You never hear throughout the day The song of meadow lark. And hyacinths you never find, Blossoming white and blue; Not in the city streets unkind Does Springtime come to you. These city streets are filled with strife, Of fight for wealth and fame. Today I’d give just half my life To hear you call my name.
