Transcriber’s Notes: Footnote 23 on page 10 is linked to from the word “Babble” but the word in the footnote is “bourd,” which also means “talk nonsense or jest.” Perhaps this was a substitution for the sake of meter? Missing or obscured punctuation was silently corrected. Typographical errors were silently corrected. Inconsistent spelling and hyphenation were made consistent only when a predominant form was found in this book.
