The Third Finger.

Reading edition

The third finger deals with wealth, industry, art, commerce, ambition and travel. Its relative length and breadth shows the owner’s ability in those directions. The first phalange indicates by its length ambition, by its breadth display, by its thickness success. The second phalange shows by its length ability to transact business, by its breadth and thickness, industry; by the development of joint and its breadth, art. The third phalange represents commerce and travel; with knuckles large indicate great activity in the lines most prominently shown.

A very long third finger indicates the speculator; unusual length and width show the scientist and explorer; with large joints, the artistic.

Such people have good form and excellent taste in arrangement and color, are very ambitious, and with first finger equal or nearly as long as the third, will be very successful in all undertakings represented by those fingers.

A very short third finger shows incompetency in the above lines.
