(page page 65).—Kawneeshaw (White Crow), sometimes called “The Blind,” was a civil chief and orator of the Winnebagoes. His village was on Lake Koshkonong. White Crow’s devotion to the whites, during the Black Hawk War, was open to suspicion; like most of his tribe, he was but a fair-weather ally.
