Note 335 — APPENDIX A SOURCES (continued 2)
Reading edition
A genealogy of Brito is ascribed by Gilla Coemgin to senior nobilis Guanach, and Todd pointed out that the reference was to the Liber Cuanach (Zimmer, Nenn. Vind. 250-1). Calling attention to the notice in Ann. Ult. s.a. 616, usque hunc annum scripsit Isidorus cronicon suum, Zimmer observes that the old recension (up to 616) of Isidore’s chronicle was known in Ireland, and conjectures that its arrival may have been the stimulus which prompted the work of Cuana.
