Note 148 — MIDDLE POINTED OR DECORATED PERIOD.

Reading edition

Mr. P. M‘Gregor Chalmers, in A Scots Mediæval Architect, p. 26, gives a full account of the sculptured scenes on this screen. He thinks they are the work of John Morow, in the beginning of the sixteenth century; but the work here appears to us to be of earlier date.
