MS. 'Cleye.' Referred to at p. 33 as 'Nicholas Clay of Redriff, shipwright and yardkeeper.' Nominated in the Charter of 1605 as one of the 'Assistants' of the Shipwrights' Company. The name is there spelt 'Cley,' but he signed as 'Nycholas Clay.'
