Captain Christopher Newport, recommended by Mansell and Trevor in 1606 for the reversion of one of the principal masters' places. In 1612 he was captain of the East Indiaman Expedition. He was removed from among the six masters by the Commission of 1618, on account of his employment by the East India Company.
