Mr. Hole, p. 27, says this is probably one of the three islands near Ceylon, called Ilhas de Cavalos, from the wild horses, to which the Dutch annually send mares to improve the breed. —Wolf’s Account of Ceylon; but p. 256 he alters his opinion.
