This is the positive statement of Geo. W. Earl, who had seen Tasmanians. (Native Races of the Indian Archipelago, p. 188. London, 1853.) It is contradicted by Dr. Hamy, in the Crania Ethnica, for no other reason, apparently, than that it does not fit his theories.
