It should be mentioned that in Germany too a start has been made in this direction.
Section 223 of the German Penal Code can be invoked against any person “injuring the health of another;” the penalty is imprisonment up to three years or fine up to 1,000 marks. There is considerable agitation in favor of provisions explicitly aimed at venereal disease. See, e. g., M.
