Note 1532 — Chapter VIII · (continued 3)

Reading edition

Cf. Martin, De Montcalm en Canada, ch. 14; Philippe Aubert de Gaspé’s Anciens Canadiens (Quebec, 1863), p. 277. In 1854 E. P. Tache delivered a discourse at a ceremonial held by the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Québec, on the occasion of “l’inhumation solennelle des ossements trouvés sur le champ de bataille de Sainte-Foye.” There is an account of the monument on the ground in Lemoine’s Quebec Past and Present, p. 295.
