With regard to Usselinx, Asher refers to Berg van Dussen Muilkerk’s work on New Netherland, written in 1851, Captain P. N. Netscher’s Les Hollandais au Brésil (La Haye, 1853), and the histories of Dutch political economy by Professor O. van Rees and Professor E. Laspeyres. The last of these books, entitled Geschichte der volkswirthschaftlichen Anschauungen der Niederländer, is also cited by Professor Odhner.
