An account of Varlo’s “Tour through America” was given in his Nature Displayed, p. 116 et seq. (London, 1794), and was reprinted (with slight variations of phrase) in his Floating Ideas of Nature, ii. 53 et seq., London, 1796. A copy of the former book is in the Mercantile Library of Philadelphia, and one of the latter is in the Library of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
