Brinton (Amer. Hero Myths, 60), referring to Father Cuoq’s Lexique de la langue Iroquoise, speaks of that author as “probably the best living authority on the Iroquois.” Pilling, Proof-sheets, 185, etc., gives the best account of his writings.
