Index: the (spelling) differences between the main text and the index have not been corrected, except as mentioned under Changes below. Several items listed in the Index are not present in the text of Volume ii (and several items described in volume ii are not listed in the Index).
Changes:
Minor typographical and punctuation errors (except when deliberately included in direct quotes) have been corrected silently.
Raised decimal points · have been changed to low decimal points . except in those tables where all decimal points are printed raised. In some tables and in the index, ditto marks have been replace with the dittoed text, and minor alignment irregularities have been standardised.
