Whilst now with rapture burning,
Thy smiles and sighs returning,
Say wilt thou love be mine?
See—the songsters’ wings are spreading,
Each grove and arbour threading,
To seek their Valentine.
Then while all hearts are striving,
And at Love’s Arts conniving,
Send offerings to his shrine.
May we, our pledge renewing,
Our patrons favor wooing,
Prove their true Valentine.
