LIFE.
Reading edition
Oh! life is but a dream,
A sunbeam’s play,
A flower on a stream
Passing away.
A song upon the air,
A festal gay,
A something wondrous fair
Passing away.
A prison-house of woe,
A wintry day,
A dark gulf’s ceaseless flow
Passing away.
A bird upon the wing,
A meteor ray,
A wild mysterious thing
Passing away.
