England under the Angevin Kings, Volume II

Note 2281 — Chapter X · THE NEW ENGLAND. 1170–1206. (continued 2)

Reading edition

The real meaning of this writ is pointed out by Mr. J. H. Round in the Academy, May 29, 1886 (new issue, No. 734, p. 381). The writ itself is there reprinted from the Eighth Report of the Royal Commission on Historical MSS., where it has been wrongly interpreted, owing to a misreading of the word which stands for Dublin.
