As Rudlieb is returning to his mother after a long absence he falls in with a nephew who has gone wrong and been ‘bewitched’ by a lewd woman. Rudlieb rescues him and the two seek shelter for the night at the house of a rich widow with an only daughter. The young man and the girl play dice together and fall in love with each other. The subsequent wedding takes place at the house of Rudlieb’s mother.
