On 18th October the III Corps had its left Division, the 4th, astride the Lys from Ploegsteert Wood to Frelinghien, while the 6th Division on the right had reached the line Premesques-Ennettières-Radinghem (S.E. of Armentières). General Conneau’s French Cavalry Corps filled the gap between its right and the left of the II Corps.
