What is Darwinism?

Note 15 — Darwin's own Testimony.

Reading edition

Mr. Darwin's habit of personifying nature has given, as his friend Mr. Wallace says, his readers a good deal of trouble. It is true, he tells us this is all to be understood metaphorically.
