When the Prince asked the men who were at the city the reason of there being a city with abandoned houses and an abandoned palace, the men said thus, that is, “Because the King who exercised the sovereignty over that city did much wrong, a deity having sent a fire-ball1 through the whole city once in three months, began to destroy it.”
