Seeing that Sir John did not arrive at Adrianople till May 10, it is a little hard to understand how he arrives at his “Five Moneths and some dayes.” Dudley North also speaks of “our tedious Attendance at Adrianople,” as having lasted “near five Months,” Life, p. 113. No doubt, to them the time seemed longer than it was.
