Labat is much enraged, in his work of the Voyage du Chevalier des Marchais a Cayenne, &c. at the idea of the Portugueze monopolizing the trade in Brazil wood, by persuading all the world that the only true wood came from Pernambuco, or Fernambourg, as he calls it. He imagines that the Brazil is the same as the logwood.
