These lines, which are not found in the Ajax of Sophocles, have been amended by various hands. Instead of συμφοροῦσα, we have ventured to read συμφορᾶς,—κηλίς συμφορᾶς being a Sophoclean phrase, and συμφοροῦσα being unsuitable.
