pacus palabros] Pocas palabras (Spanish), i.e. few words—an expression which is found under various corrupted forms in our old writers. It is usually put into the mouths of low people, among whom it seems to have been current: “With this learned oration the Cobler was tutord: laid his finger on his mouth, and cried paucos palabros.” Dekker’s Wonderfull Yeare, 1603, sig. E 4.
