Afterwards Col. Joseph M. Harty, K.H., retired f. p. Entered the army in 1807. He served at the capture of Bourbon and the Isle of France (1810), the campaigns in Germany and Holland, including the attacks on Merxem and the assault of Bergen-op-Zoom (1813–14). His commissions are dated: Ensign, April 23rd, 1807; Lt., May 1st, 1807; Capt., March 11th, 1813; Maj., Dec. 20th, 1827; Lt.-Col., July 22nd, 1841; Col., Nov. 28th, 1854. Living 1874.
