Eldest son of Henry Dawkins, of Over-Norton, co. Oxford. His mother was daughter of the late Gen. Sir H. Clinton, Commander-in-Chief of the British forces in America. Served with his regt. in the Pa. from 1809 to the close of the war, and was badly wounded before Bayonne when the French made a sortie from that town. Bn. 1788. M., 1821, eldest dau. of Thos. Duncombe, of Copgrove, co. York, and had issue. D. in Nov., 1864.
