Third son of Lt.-Gen. the Hon. Edward Stopford. Assumed the additional surname of Blair on succeeding to the Penninghame estate, co. Wigtown. Retd. on h. p. as bt. col., 20th Dec., 1841. Col. Stopford-Blair m., in 1823, a dau. of Col. R. Bull, C.B. He d. 23rd Sept., 1868, and was succeeded by his eldest son.
