Brother to Henry, Viscount Hardinge. Was not at Waterloo, being otherwise employed that day, but was present both at Ligny and Quatre Bras on the eventful 16th June, 1815. Had served in the Pa. Aftds. maj.-gen. and K.H. Bn. 14th April, 1790. D. 20th July, 1864. He was twice md., and left issue by both wives.
