Had been wounded in the previous year in the night attack on Bergen-op-Zoom. Killed at Quatre Bras. His death, and that of many of the men of the 69th, was entirely due to the inexperience of the Prince of Orange, who stopped Col. Morice from forming square, and ordered him to re-form column.
