Note 33 — Chapter VI · THE PRACTICE OF FELLOWSHIP.
Reading edition
An interesting sign of where the members of the W.E.A. themselves feel the essence of the movement to lie is seen in the inscription on a memorial cross erected in the Parish Church of Lambeth, London, in memory of three tutors of the W.E.A.:
“In memory of
Philip Anthony Brown, 1886-1915.
Alfred Edward Bland, 1881-1916.
Arthur Charleswood Turner, 1881-1918.
Tutors of the Workers’ Educational Association. They lived for Fellowship in England and died for it in France.”
