Colebrooke speaks of the Paśupati-sástra (Maheśvara-siddhánta or Sivágama), as the text-book of the Páśupata sect. The Ágamas are said to be twenty-eight (see their names in the Rev. T. Foulkes' "Catechism of the Śaiva Religion").
