Note Z — THE WHITE DOE OF RYLSTONE;
Reading edition
The site of Rylstone Hall is still recognisable, but the building is gone. It was not at Rylstone, but at Ripon, that the Nortons raised their banner in November 1569; but their tenantry at Rylstone rose with them at the same time.—Ed.
