Note 60.1 — THE PASTON LETTERS Edward IV (continued 2)

Reading edition

[Add. MS. 34,889, f. 220.] This letter is probably late in the reign of Edward IV. John Paston would seem to have entered the service of Hastings, the Lord Chamberlain, some time after the death of his brother Sir John in 1479. See No. 993.

60.2 Against this passage in the margin is written in another hand:—‘Md. pro Barnard.’
