Prinz, Funde aus Nauk. p. 84. Prinz, ibid. pp. 86–87, regards some of the early jars from Naukratis as Ionian, comparing the shapes of painted Ionian jars. Whether, as Prinz thinks (ibid. p. 13), they prove an early Greek settlement in the South quarter is another question.
