Note 65 — Chapter I · THE IMAGINATIVE GROUP

Reading edition

Beckford also wrote a short oriental tale, Al Raoui, nominally “translated from the Arabic” but probably composed by Beckford, 1783, and first printed 1799. It is a fanciful and rather pleasing romantic tale and may be found in Cyrus Redding, Memoirs of William Beckford. London, 1859, Vol. I., pp. 213–226.
