Reading edition

Bír el Jemmálín بير الجمالين (MS. B.M. fol. 101), the Camel-keepers’ well. M. Quatremère (Not. et Extr. p. 612) reads Bír el Ḥammálín, that is, the Porters’ well. But as this name occurs in the route from Wádi Darʿah, it is fortunate that a pointed MS. enables us to distinguish clearly between those two places, the proximity of which would conduce to the embarrassment likely to result from their being confounded together.
