Note V-41 — Chapter V · ANTIQUITIES OF YUCATAN.
Reading edition
My engravings are taken from Waldeck, Voy. Pitt., pl. xv., xvii. They are reproduced in Larenaudière, Mex. et Guat., p. 323, pl. 3, 6. The perfect accuracy of the engravings—except the seated statues—is proved by Charnay's photographs 42, 49, which show the same front, as does the view in Stephens' Yucatan, vol. i., p. 305. The southern front of this building is only shown in general views in Stephens' Cent. Amer., vol. ii., p. 420; repeated in Armin, Das Heutige Mex., p. 92; and in Norman's Rambles in Yuc., p. 160, which give no details.
