See also in the same collection, chap. xiv. of the Discours sur le Saccagement des Églises, etc. en 1562, by Claude de Sainctes, and the Vrai Tocsain. We must not accept for truth all recorded by this writer, but after the most ample deduction from his narrative there remains much to lament and condemn.
