Note 115 — Chapter III · REIGN OF FRANCIS II. [1559–1560.]
Reading edition
The Défense contre les Tyrans of Hubert Languet treats of the limits of obedience to kings, of the causes which justify arming, and when foreign aid may be sought. Davila confesses that the Protestants were forced to measures of self-defense, “per liberarsi della durezza della condizione presente.”
