Note 584 — Chapter XII · THE ASSASSINATION. [22d, 23d, and 24th August.]
Reading edition
Juan de Olaegni says that Marcel, “cabeça de los vezinos,” was sent for, but the city registers say Le Charron. Gachard: Particularités inédites in Bull. Acad. Sci. Bruxelles, xvi. 1849, p. 235. If the “au soir bien tard” of Anjou’s narrative means “late in the afternoon,” there were probably two meetings, at the latter of which Marcel was present.
