On this Menselius remarks, that if the account be true, “Ipse (Anjou) cum matre minime cædis detestandæ particeps habendus esset, sed solus rex Carolus eandem animo concessisset.” Bibliotheca Historica, vii. pars 2a, p. 213. Lipsiæ, 1795. Few will agree with the conclusion.
