Note 475 — FIRST VISIT TO SCOTLAND.
Reading edition
It is a remarkable fact, that, during his first visit to Scotland, in 1741, Whitefield received the compliment of honorary burgess tickets from four of the principal towns of the country—Stirling, Glasgow, Paisley, and Aberdeen. In 1742, the same honour was conferred upon him by Irvine; and, in 1762, by Edinburgh.
