The Earl of Strafford (see p. 170) married, on Sept. 6, 1711, Anne, only daughter and heiress of Sir Henry Johnson, of Bradenham, Buckinghamshire, a wealthy shipbuilder. Many of Lady Strafford’s letters to her husband are given in the Wentworth Papers, 1883.
