I do not conceive that at the present time many, if any, Bishops of the Church of England would license exorcism. Certainly the more scientifically minded and modernistic Lords Spiritual of the Anglican bench have rid themselves of such an idle superstition. How they would explain Our Blessed Lord’s words and actions I do not pretend to know, but I suppose that according to their wider knowledge Christ—sit uenia uerbis—was mistaken in this as in other particulars.
