The Rituale Romanum has “Benedictio Infirmorum cum Ligno SS. Crucis, D.N.J.C. seu Signum S. Mauri Abbatis.” This is a blessing of the sick with a Relic of the Holy Cross and the invocation of S. Benedict and S. Maurus.
