Note 111 — BOOK XXI
Evelyn S. (Evelyn Shirley) Shuckburgh translation
See Livy, 38, 28, 29. The fragment here seems to be that translated by Livy in ch. 29, Romani nocte per arcem, quam Cyatidem vocant (nam urbs in mare devexa in Occidentem vergit) muro superato in forum pervenerunt. The people of Same suddenly threw off the terms under which the rest of Cephallenia had submitted and stood a four months’ siege.
